Cebu City National Science High School (CCNSHS) is now aiming for the “Regional Science High School” (RSHS) position in Region VII, following the announcement by the Department of Education (DepEd) recognizing the institution’s Special Program in Science (SPS) curriculum and the creation of the Negros Island Region (NIR).

The Grade 12 batch of Cebu City National Science High School, known as Ardenti Divinus, have secured their spots at the University of the Philippines (UP) for the academic year 2024-2025.
These individuals demonstrated their academic prowess by successfully passing the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT).
The UPCAT, held last June 3–4, 2023, took place across more than 100 testing sites nationwide.

The scholars from Cebu City National Science High School have won major awards at the said fair, having emerged as champions in the Life Science, Physical Science, and Robotics and Intelligence Machines (RIM) categories of the Tuklas: STEM Research Competition. In a display of intellectual abilities last September 23, 2023, the Cebu City National Science High School (CCNSHS) team comprising of Justine Kyle Alon, Zachary Paul Matriano, both in Grade 12, and Zae Escarro, a Grade 11 student, guided by Mr. Melchizedeck Rudinas, their mentor, emerged triumphant.
The team secured the first place at the prestigious Indigay sa Kinaadman 2023 Quiz Bowl held at Rigney Hall, University of San Carlos Talamban Campus.
Indigay Sa Kinaadman, a weeklong series of events showcasing the significance of Chemical Engineering in the society and for nation building.
The competition featured a total of six participating teams and a nerve-racking clincher round went down between the Philippine Science High School - Central Visayas Campus team and the Cebu City National Science High School team.
